TRANSFORMER WINS LAST SATURDAY REPAIRS SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK As Midnight Mayhem was being finished up on Saturday morning (approximately 3:30 AM), a main transformer blew up and power was lost on the race track. Mid-American energy was called and the transformer was replaced. However, some type of electronics failure resulted from the incident. After several attempts at "stop gap" repairs on Saturday, race officials could not get the timing system to function properly. A preliminary guess is that the transformer failure sent a spike into the system and caused a "leak or bleed" in the system. Track operator Scott Gardner said "We will get done whatever we need to do to get the system up and running properly including the complete re-wiring of the system should that be required." Gardner and the staff thank everyone for their patience this past Saturday.
