WORSHAM & WILKERSON MAKE NHRA SEMI-FINALS IN READING, PA TEAMS TEST AND READY FOR WORLD SERIES
Both Del Worsham and Tim Wilkerson went to the semi-final round of the Nitro Funny Car class at the rain delayed completion of the NHRA Toyo Tires Nationals in Reading, PA on Wednesday. Worsham trying to gain his position in the NHRA top eight and Wilkerson playing spoiler, worked their way to the round of four on Sunday prior to the rains setting in. Worsham also took top honors with a number one qualifying effort with a 4.80 blast.
Since the rain forced the finish of the NHRA race in Reading, PA to Wednesday, the teams of Del Worsham and Jeff Arend have decided to stay in PA on Thursday and do some testing prior to racing at the World Series of Drag Racing this Saturday at Cordova Dragway Park. "We want to make sure our baseline is good for both the World Series of Drag Racing and the US Nationals" said Del Worsham. "We are going to wrap up on Thursday in PA and head to Cordova" continued Worsham.
In addition to the Nitro Funny Cars of Worsham and Arend, Tim Wilkerson will bring his LVS sponsored Funny Car to the Series as well as IHRA King-Pin Jack Wyatt. The World Series of Drag Racing is the oldest continuous drag race in the World, featuring almost every type of pro racing that exists in drag racing. The Nitro Funny Cars will be racing at 7 PM on Saturday, August 25.
