FIRST SNOW OUT IN CORDOVA HISTORY
HANGOVEFEST GETS HIT BY MOTHER NATURE

The 7th annual HangoverFest scheduled for New Years Day 2008 was snowed out. Weather forecasters had called for about 1" of snow on Monday, that actually turned into 5 or 6 inches. Coupled with sharp winds of 20-25 mph and very cold temperatures, a safe place to race was not in order and the event had to be canceled.

"Preparations for the HangoverFest actually began several days back as Tony Metzger, Dan Beale and Dumpster Dan make several attempts to have the place in shape" said Scott Gardner. "Before the snow on Monday, we could have definitely raced" he concluded. The cancellation of the HangoverFest  was the first, in the past seven seasons the event was produced. "We expect winter weather" commented Gardner. "But a winter storm was more than we could safely handle".

Look for the HangoverFest to return next year at Cordova Dragway Park.
