DIETRICH DRIVES PINTO TO KING OF THE TRACK WIN

Sometimes it’s the underdog that everyone should pay attention to. That was the case this past Saturday, May 16 at Cordova Dragway Park, Cordova, Illinois.

Race conditions continued to be a challenge with temperatures cool and very windy conditions that forced racing to be changed to a 1/8 mile format.  It was Jim Dietrich who drove his Ford powered Pinto to a class championship in the Super ET category as well as the special NHRA King of the Track run-off for the coveted title.

“Scoring a victory over nearly 200 other racers was pretty cool, mentioned Dietrich, especially stopping Brian Lynch in the final who is a heavy hitter in the Pro ET Class.”

NHRA KING OF THE TRACK FINAL ROUND RESULTS
Jim Dietrich .013 (7.18) 7.181,  94.39 mph  Defeated Brian Lynch .002 (5.97) 5.969 112.35 mph
