NHRA ROOKIE OF THE YEAR MASSEY TO COMPETE AT 57th WORLD SERIES OF DRAG RACING

Spencer Massey Vs Doug Foley in Top Fuel

The Top Fuel match race at the 57th O’Reilly Auto Parts World Series of Drag Racing is now set. Spencer Massey, last year’s NHRA Rookie of the Year will take on veteran Doug Foley.

Massey, who scored two Top Fuel Dragster victories and finished sixth on the NHRA Tour in Don Prudhomme’s dragster in 2009, will take the wheel of a Doug Foley Nitro Dragster on Saturday, August 28 during the World Series of Drag Racing at Cordova Dragway Park. 

Foley, who is currently competing on the NHRA Tour and has qualified nicely at each event entered in 2010, will bring his powerful entry to Cordova to take on Massey. Having run a best 3.86 at 313 mph, he is looking to be the first 3-second driver during the 1000’ era of nitro racing at Cordova Dragway Park.

“We are tremendously happy to have two guys racing in Top Fuel with this level of talent” said Track Operator Scott Gardner. “Another interesting aspect to this event is that Spencer last attended a race here at CDP in a Junior Dragster; man have times changed” he continued.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts World Series of Drag Racing is August 27-29, 2010 at Cordova Dragway Park, Cordova, Illinois. In addition to the Top Fuel Dragster match race, Nitro Funny Cars, Nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars, The X-Treme Machine Jet Semi, Jet Dragsters and Funny Cars, Wheelstanders and more will appear.
