Two-way traffic returns to I-80 bridge Friday morning

At 7:30 a.m. on June 11, 2010, the I-80 westbound ramp at Illinois 84 will close and remain closed for the rest of the construction. Westbound traffic on I-80 from Illinois 84 will need to take I-80 eastbound four miles to its intersection with I-88 and return on westbound I-80.

Between 9 and 11 a.m., depending upon the weather, two-way traffic will be routed to one lane of the I-80 bridge.

The bridge will be restricted to one lane in each direction until October as Civil Constructors continue the $10.3 million repair project on the westbound half of the structure.  The contractor used an accelerated schedule to get the eastbound lane of the I-80 bridge reopened more than a month ahead of schedule
