AN UPDATE FROM VICTORY LIGHT MINISTRIES
You’ve known us for 15 years as Drag Racing Chaplains serving as Track Chaplains at Cordova Dragway Park, Byron Dragway, and as Division 5 Chaplains with Godspeed Ministries. We’ve loved every minute of it. At the same time and since racing is seasonal in this area, we’ve also been involved in other area ministries; the Victory Center Rescue Mission in Clinton, Iowa, Pastoring a church and filling pulpits locally, Diana playing music for services, serving as coach driver and Chaplain for a local funeral home, staff Chaplain at Good Samaritan Nursing Center and for the past 3 years as Director of The Great River Outreach in Savanna. There is a common thread through all of this – namely: to serve the needy and make disciples for Christ. We have always been evangelists, telling everyone we can what a marvelous Savior we have and sharing our testimonies. During the past year, the Lord has been dealing with us regarding the other side of the ministry – helping the disadvantaged and truly needy. In both the old and new testaments the true worship God desires is that we feed the hungry, clothe the naked and house the homeless. (Isaiah 58, Matt 25, James 1) We feel the call on our lives to one of full time ministry focused on these scriptures. For all the racers, staff and friends we are still available. You can call, mail, email, text or reach us on Facebook and we’ll respond and will serve in any way we can. We will keep an eye on the racing schedules and may come out for special events or to meet some special need. Thank you! We love you! God bless you! When you are in Savanna, stop in at Neat Repeats, 414 Main Street (our thrift store outreach to fund free lunches) Chaplain Floyd and Diana ------------------------------------------- A NOTE FROM SCOTT It's been a pleasure having Victory Light Ministries at the race track. There has been countless tough times that we have been through together and the guidance and assistance that the Ministry have provided has been invaluable. I truly believe there is a calling for everyone and sometimes the calling will be altered and change. In this case, the service to the disadvantaged and needy is the direction. For those who financially supported the Ministry, I ask that they continue to do so and also ask those who have not in the past to consider doing so. Our best wishes are extended for the future of Victory Light Ministries. |
