ATTENTION BRACKET RACERSBracket racers who attend the Division 5 Summit Racing ET Bracket Finals that run 9.99 and quicker will be required to have an NHRA Accepted Oil-Retention Device (Diaper) starting in 2012. Additionally bracket racers who participate at Cordova Dragway Park than run 9.99 and quicker will be required to have the same beginning in 2012. Currently, only vehicles running 7.49 and quicker require NHRA Accepted Oil-Retention devices at NHRA Events and at Cordova Dragway Park. "The change is a positive for the sport, mentioned Scott Gardner, the more oil downs and down time we can eliminate as well as physical damage to the vehicles and medical injuries the much better we are" he continued. While the requirement is not in effect for 2011, both the NHRA and CDP urge all competitors to consider installing an Oil Retention Device now.
