BIGGEST NITRO FUNNY CAR SHOW IN YEARS AT 58th WORLD SERIES

A huge line-up a Nitro Funny Cars is pre-entered for the 58th O'Reilly Auto Parts World Series of Drag Racing. Headlining the show are current NHRA Funny Cars, including crowd favorite Tim Wilkerson with his LRS sponsored Springfield, Illinois based Mustang. He will be up against Dale Creasy Jr (known as Peanut) with his Chicago based entry. Ironically, these two faced each other in round number one this past weekend at the NHRA Nationals in Brainerd, MN and it was Wilkerson who took the win.

Fifteen Funny Cars are pre-entered for the Drag Racing Online AA - Funny Car Challenge. Leading the entries is defending DRO Champion and former IHRA Top Fuel Champion Paul Romine. Hot on his heals is John Hale in the Nitro Boss, Doc Halladay (Telstar) and many more. "I would guess that it will take a very low 6-second Elapsed Time to qualify for the prestigious 8 car field" mentioned Scott Gardner.

The DRO Funny Car Challenge Funny Cars will have two qualifying sessions. The first session is Friday evening with the Night of Thrills portion of the World Series and the second session will be early Saturday afternoon. Round one of the class is scheduled for 4 PM Saturday with the four winners running their final rounds during the Pro Finale (after 7 PM).
